Polsteam Orders Four Bluetech 45 Handymax General Cargo Carriers from Wuhu Weihai Shipyard.

Polska Zegluga Morska (Polsteam) has signed a contract for the construction of four Bluetech 45 general cargo carriers from Wuhu Weihai shipyard in China's Shandong province. The vessels will be built to the Bluetech 45 (BT45) design.

Each BT45 vessel will have an overall length of 190 meters, a molded width of 31.84 meters, and a depth of 16 meters, and a deadweight of 45 000 tons. The BT45 design has been updated to comply with the latest rules and regulations. It features a modern streamlined hull form that reduces water resistance across the full speed range. This is further enhanced by BlueFin propulsion optimization technology, significantly improving propulsion efficiency.

Bluetech general cargo carriers are known for offering the largest hold volume and deadweight in their class, while maintaining the lowest fuel consumption - making them among the most environmentally friendly general cargo carriers on the market. This new series of vessels will represent a state-of-the-art addition to the Handymax segment.
