Arctic Condensate Tanker


  • Bluetech Finland has been subcontracted to deliver the basic design and analysis for the hull structures in the mid ship and for the deckhouse for the Arctic Condensate Tanker Aker ARC 212. The new round-shaped hull will work well in the harsh circumstances and will improve performance also in open sea conditions

  • The contract also includes the classification design, calculations and a Harmonised Common Structural Rules with a FE-analysis (strength, vibration, collision etc.)

  • The tanker is designed to operate year-round in the arctic regions of Yamal Peninsula, Russia. It has been classified according to both Russian Maritime Register and Bureau Veritas rules. It will be able to operate in 1.8 metre thick ice with an icebreaking speed of 2 knots

  • It can transport almost 60,000 m3 gas condensate, crude oil and product oil in five cargo segregates

  • The Arctic Condensate Tanker will be built by GSI, Guangzhou Shipyard International in China
